Arepa Mia

Arepa Mia

Before I get into my adventures in the Northeast (hiiii I'm back!) I wanted to show off a little place I went to the night before I left. Say hi to Arepa Mia!

Mi Arepa! Pretty sure this is La Sureña: chicken, lettuce, tomato, avocado, cheese, and cilantro sauce

It's hard to describe an arepa, but basically it's a big grilled cornmeal patty, sliced in half and stuffed with...well, stuff. Whatever you fancy. The arepa itself is crispy on the outside but soft and chewy on the inside. Eat it like a burger.

Reina pepiada (maybe): chicken with lime, cilantro, and avocado

Arepas are great because you can eat them at every meal and they go with just about anything. The ones at Arepa Mia really fill you up, too.

I spy with my little eye, some empanadas across the table!

But if you're really hungry, you could always get some arepitas or tostones, too. The arepitas remind me of the dumplings I had for breakfast as a kid.

There's two Atlanta locations, and it's a really good place, so give it a try.

I'll be back with more food adventures later this week, but from New York!
